Energy Bills in the UK Set to Rise by 1.2% on January 1st
Energy price caps will increase for the second consecutive quarter starting in January, leaving typical households facing a bill of £1,738. Ofgem announced that the energy bill for an average household will rise from £1,717 on January 1, reflecting an increase of 1.2% or £21. Cornwall Insight had previously predicted a decrease to £1,697, down by 1%, but stated that this is no longer valid following a 10% rise in prices in October.
